Workshops
I run a number of workshops throughout the year, from my home studio and external locations nearby.
Workshops normally run from 9.45am- 4pm at Hoveringham Village Centre, Gonalston Lane, Hoveringham NG14 7JH. The workshops are a fantastic day, and you can see what people are saying about them here. The cost of a day’s workshop is £68 and includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Materials for the day are extra and usually cost between £15 and £50 (depending on the project) or alternatively you are very welcome to bring your own if you have something particularly beautiful you wish to use! Please bring along your own machine. Finally, booking early is essential to avoid disappointment as places are limited. We look forward to seeing you soon!
PRIVATE TUITION:
If you are unable to make any of these dates or prefer a smaller group, Jane runs workshops from home providing tuition that can be tailored to your needs. A lovely homemade lunch is provided making it a relaxing and fun way to spend a day! Private or small group tuition: 1 person £160 per day, 2 people £80 each, 3 /4 people £66 each.

25th March 2022 Back Pack Bag. Sew a stylish, modern backpack bag that carries all your essentials whilst out shopping, walking or on holiday.
15th April 2022 Appliquéd Fabric Pots/ Coiled Rope Baskets Make some beautiful appliquéd fabric pots OR coiled rope baskets for all your storage needs.
20th May 2022 Hand Embroidered/Appliquéd picture. Time to get creative by combining appliqué with a few simple hand embroidery stitches and paint to make a landscape picture.
17th June 2022 Appliquéd Cushion. Make a beautiful botanical themed appliquéd cushion.
22nd July 2022 Japanese Style Sashiko/Boro Bag. Create a gorgeous shoulder bag by piecing, patching , layering and stitching. You can use recycled fabric and scraps to create a unique bag.
16th September 2022 Autumn Leaves Table Runner. Embrace Autumn and make an autumn inspired appliquéd table runner.
14th October 2022 Hand Embroidered Christmas Decorations.Decorate your tree this year with stunning hand embroidered Christmas decorations that will become a family heirloom.
18th November 2022 Partridge in a Pear Tree Christmas WreathCreative a festive Christmas wreath using wool felt on the theme of a partridge in a pear tree!
2nd December 2022 Wool Felt Christmas Cushion. Make a gorgeous wool felt Christmas themed Cushion
WORKSHOP FEE: Each day’s workshop is £68 and includes professional tuition and a lovely homemade lunch and tea/coffee throughout the day, making it a relaxing and fun way to spend a day! We ask you to arrive at 9.50am and run through to 4pm.
Materials for the project are not included in the course fee, should you require a materials pack for the project please order at the time of booking, you will be asked for a deposit for this with the remainder being paid just prior to the day. Please refer to details below.
MATERIALS PACKS: Materials packs for the projects should be ordered at the time of booking (some workshops may require you to bring your own) or alternatively you may choose to bring your own materials and a list of requirements will be provided prior to the workshop.
The cost of materials packs will depend on the project, but please be assured they are always good quality and suitable for the project ensuring you have a lovely item to take home at the end of the day. (Please note I am unable to offer a choice of packs as these are made up according to what materials are available at the time at a reasonable cost and are pre-cut).
At the time of booking you will be asked for £15 materials deposit with any remainder of the materials cost being payable just prior to the day, should the materials cost for the project be less than £15 this will be refunded or can be credited to a future workshop you may wish to book.
PLEASE NOTE AS MATERIALS ARE OFTEN PURCHASED AND PREPARED IN ADVANCE, IF ORDERED THEY MUST BE PAID FOR REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU CANCEL YOUR ATTENDANCE AT A LATER DATE.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING: You will need to bring along your sewing machine and a basic sewing kit. Jane will contact you prior to the workshop to let you know if anything specific is required, for example free-motion foot for free-machining.
COMPLIMENTARY LUNCH
We provide a complimentary lunch with the aim of making your creative day a pleasurable, social one too, and it has always been popular. However, we are not dietary or nutritional experts and are unable to cater for specific dietary requirements. We have to bring along all food items with us so please do let us know if you have any allergies . We do reserve the right to ask you to bring your own lunch should we feel we are not able to cater for your requirements. Please note in all instances course attendees are responsible for what they consume, so please be sure to ask about ingredients.
BOOKING & PAYMENT:
To secure a place on a workshop please complete a BOOKING FORM (this will be emailed to you) and make your payment in full including a materials deposit of £15 ( any additional materials cost can be paid just prior to the day or, if less, refunded). Alternatively, if you wish to bring your own materials that is fine and a list of requirements will be provided.

CANCELLATION
Very rarely we may need to cancel or postpone a workshop because of unavoidable circumstances, in such circumstances we will let you know as soon as possible and offer a full refund by BACS or you may transfer it to an alternative workshop with places available. Please ensure we have your full contact details.
If YOU have to cancel your attendance OVER 6 weeks ( 42 days) prior to the course date any monies paid shall be refunded (less £5.00 administration fee, this covers bank charges,
If YOU cancel your attendance WITHIN 6 weeks (42 days) of the date of the course NO refund can be issued due to bookings having been made. However, we do not wish to disappoint and as a courtesy if you find you are unable to attend the workshop you may send someone in your place. PLEASE NOTE at such short notice it is NOT possible to transfer monies to an alternative workshop.
Please note if you have ordered materials on your booking form these will need to be paid for in FULL regardless of attendance, as often they are prepared in advance and purchases have been made. These can be collected directly from Jane or picked up at the next workshop date.
Please ensure you have read and understood the above terms and conditions prior to booking, the completion of booking is an acceptance of the above.
