A Sewing Year

I’m not sure where this year has gone too but on the sewing front it has been a great year. After another successful year of sewing workshops that I have run in conjunction with Manor Farm Tea Shoppe I’m really looking forward to a creative New Year! My program of workshops for 2014 can be viewed here with lots of new workshops being added, I hope you are able to find something that you like.

This year I’m pleased to say that I have been fortunate to meet some lovely people who have decided to take up sewing for the first time; some who have had a little experience of sewing and some who have been very competent sewers who wanted to broaden their skills. What I have found has been no matter what level of experience, the enjoyable and rewarding aspect for me has been to see the amount of progression that has been made; to see beginners become proficient, to see competent sewers tackle new techniques, to see original work being created from being given a few pointers and ideas to explore. I’ve been amazed by how supportive those attending the workshops have been to each other; encouraging, exploring and sharing ideas and knowledge which have all served to create a great atmosphere in which to work, create and socialise, not to mention sharing a great lunch!
